The primary function of this position is to support Governance activities of the Enterprise Cyber Security and Network Solutions (ECNS) Team. This role will report to the Manager, Governance who works to support the current and future needs of the business and compliance with all Cybersecurity related mandates. This can be achieved primarily through the fulfillment of regular activities to review and update the current control inventory framework to industry standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, MITRE etc.) and recommending updates based on the gaps identified through these mapping exercises. Work part time while enrolled in an accredited university / college. Maximum hours per week - 32 hours.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The ECNS Governance function aims to address and mitigate security risks through the maintenance of appropriate security controls, relevant standards and policies that support business requirements. This position will support this scope of work and the successful incumbent will be responsible for:
* Reviewing the current control inventory based on industry frameworks (Mapping exercise) and completion of gap analysis
* Working on various activities to enhance the maturity of the security control inventory (i.e control owners, action plans etc.)
* Developing processes to complete the annual review and on-going maintenance of controls, standards and policies
* Working with other teams to develop awareness activities and communications to enhance the cyber aware culture
EDUCATION/LANGUAGE
* The ideal candidate will be a current undergrad Junior/Senior college status - preferably studying Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field.
* GPA and expected graduation date must be on resume to be considered
* GPA 3.0 Minimum
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to perform in a team environment.
* Experience in working with Power BI and Power Apps platforms (Asset)
