Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists Supervisor or Manager in maintaining a high quality standard by keeping him/her informed on the condition of all assigned areas and by training, supervising and motivating the environmental services personnel to be sure all schedules are completed. Performs the duties of an environmental services aide as outlined in the job description. Accepts responsibility for a limited area, shift or task as assigned. Continuously checks assigned areas to be sure work is being done properly and that personnel are following schedules (duty lists)

Reports any pertinent information to the Supervisor or Manager as it occurs. Instills a service-minded approach to all tasks performed by environmental services staff by demonstrating a personal enthusiasm and team spirit

Motivates staff by communicating areas done well and areas needing improvement. Retrains environmental services personnel as directed by the environmental services management. Recommends and observes staff coverage at all times by checking sign-in sheet and using personnel efficiently. Inspects equipment daily to maintain it in clean condition and in good repair. Maintains good public relations with all patients, facility and staff personnel. Assumes responsibility for work area in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager.

Assumes responsibility for the quality standard in his/her area.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

* 1 year previous commercial housekeeping experience preferred (preference to a hospital setting).
* After initial training, demonstrate ability to utilize supplies, tools and equipment properly
* Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
