Job Description

The Color Technologist, Entry will be responsible for providing a wide variety of routine, non-routine, and complex technical services in support of engineering and scientific R&D activities in the Architectural Coatings Color Laboratory. Capable of working with professionals, engineers, scientists, and project leaders to plan, construct, test, and document laboratory work involving the use of skills learned primarily on the job.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensures that proper safety procedures and housekeeping are maintained on all work programs and conducts work in a manner that protects self, co-workers, the environment, and the safety of the community.
* Performs tinting, panel preparation, color evaluation, paint and coating evaluation, color adjustments, and provides support to manufacturing color quality control as required to support efforts throughout the color and colorant laboratories. Independently responds color match requests.
* Operates and maintains laboratory equipment with limited supervision.
* Reports results (in charts, graphs, tables, and reports) in timely manner to meet project requirements.
* Participates in evaluation and presentation of results in formal and informal atmospheres and makes recommendations when appropriate.
* Maintains laboratory and equipment in orderly and clean condition.
* Participates in the in the quality process and maintains requirements for the laboratory.
* Performs miscellaneous duties as directed.

Qualifications:

* Degree demonstrating science, laboratory, math, and problem solving skills.
