Job Description

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will manage the Quality Assurance and Technical efforts of PPGs stain production site in Louisville, KY.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage Quality Systems and processes at Plant level by assuring products and services meet customer requirements.
* Lead effort with site to constantly improve using Corrective Action Systems (e.g. CAER, ICAR, and Supplier CARs).
* Improve all aspects of right first time e.g. Management of Change, FRC, FRB, metrics improvement, etc.
* Monitor the voice of the customer (e.g. complaints/recalls) working with Tech Service in order to achieve total customer happiness.
* Assess overall state of plant quality by conducting appropriate audits with corresponding improvement plans.
* Manage formulary flow from R&D to plants including feedback loop for continual improvement includes formulas, test methods, specifications and manufacturing procedures.
* Minimize SLOB, waste and defective product inventory through management of rework, wash water and minimization of problem batches.
* Manage local lab within budget while meeting plant needs, doing so with a strong engagement in a safe and healthy work environment.
* Cultivate strong, productive work relationships and actively participate in site Leadership Team.
* Champion process improvements at site to improve quality and be strongly engaged with all levels of site operations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in chemistry, engineering or science degree or equivalent experience.
* Five years of experience in Quality Assurance or Operations, preferably working with chemicals, coatings, or similar liquid production.
* Previous supervisory experience preferred.
* Strong mathematical, analytical, computer & problem solving skills.
* Previous experience working in a SAP environment.
