National Oilwell Varco Containment Solutions Inc. is a leading manufacturer of fiberglass underground storage tanks with a staff of expert technicians. The company is seeking a motivated individual for an immediate job opportunity as a Field Service Technician based in the Bakersfield, CA area.
Job Responsibilities
* Safety procedures must be followed.
* Fiberglass tank and Manhole repairs, modifications, and testing.
* Ability to use computers
* Job reports required to document field work done by e-mail on preprinted excel forms.
* Required to track travel and work time for accurate billing preparation by field service supervisors.
* With direction and training, will assume responsibility for decision making on the job.
* Communicate daily with the supervisor, using cell phone provided by the company.
Job Requirements
* Must be willing to travel on a weekly basis.
* Valid Driver license with C Class required for travel to various states.
* 30 Hour OSHA safety training desired.
* DOT Physical Examination required.
* Training will be provided by working with a Senior Technician.
* Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with customers and other individuals on large jobsites.
* Physical abilities to: Wear respirators & fresh air supplied masks, climb vertical ladders, with arms extended to the front and overhead intermittently for several hours to grind and roll out layups, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces.
* Job offer contingent on a drug & alcohol test and background check.
* Normal work week will be Monday through Friday. Business conditions may require occasional weekends. Maximum time away will be (2) two weeks, unless agreed upon between the supervisor and technician.
* Must be willing to fly and obtain a passport.
