The 1ES Program Management team is looking for a Principal Program Manager to lead and help drive improvements in engineering processes, tools and services that Microsoft engineers use daily. The goal is to help developers build their ideas, ship features faster, with less friction.

The focus of this role is improving developer productivity, specifically in the build space, for the largest codebases at Microsoft. 1ES runs mission critical services to power these build experiences; half of Microsoft's developers rely on 1ES build services today.

You will work to ensure these services meet customer demands in terms of performance, reliability and security while providing a world class experience.

It is especially important to figure out how to anchor these services to both the Azure DevOps and GitHub pipelines, as 1ES is on a journey to bring all of Microsoft and LinkedIn to GitHub in the near future.

You will work across several world class engineering teams and organizations to deliver build features that improve engineering satisfaction, productivity and security.

The right candidate will possess a technical background and mission critical services experience. Your customers will be internal Microsoft developers and their Engineering Systems teams. You will be working with all large organizations across Microsoft, so you will have the opportunity to influence beyond your own organizational chain.

A passion for developer productivity and strong customer focus is crucial. Demonstrated experience creating, evolving, and communicating feature area specifications, experience with customer research and design methods are other essential skills we are looking for.

Required Qualifications

* 5+ years experience delivering features into commercially shipped software products or services
* 5+ years of Program Management experience
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or human factors design

Preferred Qualifications

* Excellent oral and written communication skills interacting with technical and non-technical audiences
* Demonstrated cross team collaboration and project execution capabilities
* Experience with engineering systems and mission critical services
* Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
* Master's degree in computer science, engineering or human factors design

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
