An Intern in Business Unit Finance will have the opportunity to provide financial support to business unit marketing and product planning teams in the semiconductor industry. They will participate in activities associated with evaluating the profitability of products, customers and market segments. They will also have the opportunity to experience budgeting and spending management activity and learn processes that facilitate effective decision making with regard to spending and resource utilization. An intern will also engage in analysis of manufacturing and engineering costs and learn the drivers of cost in semiconductor products.
Interns in Finance learn valuable organizational skills with respect to communication and collaboration in a large, fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities and Tasks
* Perform analysis of profit and loss associated with individual products, customers and market segments. Communicate results and conclusions.
* Perform analysis of manufacturing costs of products or product lines and demonstrate understanding of important cost drivers.
* Facilitate an effective review of expense budgets for one or more business units; develop insightful feedback to enhance control over spending to drive cost efficiencies.
* Evaluate the development and engineering costs of products and summarize significant costs, highlighting cost over-runs and savings.
* Collaborate with personnel inside and outside of Finance contacts; communicate developments in work to supervisors.
Qualifications
* Effective verbal & written communication skills.
* Completed coursework demonstrating analytical and problem solving capabilities.
* Ability to organize priorities to meet deadlines.
Education & Experience
* Progressed to upper class level coursework in financial related fields such as Accounting, Finance or Economics.
