We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Principal Scientist to join our Research Laboratory Discovery Biology group. This is an exciting opportunity to build in vitro modeling platforms to help us understand the molecular mechanisms of disease and pathology. The successful candidate is expected to pursue novel technologies to generate complex human cellular models across different disease indications with a focus on vascular models and the identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets and next-generation biomarkers. The individual will design, plan, and execute experiments in the laboratory and provide scientific and technical input into the target portfolio. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific rigor, independent thought and a team-oriented mentality.

Required Experience and Skills:

* A Ph.D. with +5 years of experience in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, or similar degree. Candidates in both academic and industry settings are encouraged to apply.

* Hands-on experience with ES/iPS cell culture, multi-lineage differentiation methods including organoids or co-culture systems, and genetic perturbation approaches such as Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR/Cas9) are a must.

* Expertise in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques including, functional assay development and novel high content readout approaches

* Proven ability to solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the-art technologies exemplified by publication in high-quality scientific journals is required.

* Proficiency with single-cell profiling, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), understanding of genetic variants in complex diseases and/or experience with biomarker development though not required is a plus

* Good knowledge and know-how on practical applications for target identification, target validation and drug prioritization are desired
