Job Description
Our Sourcing team partner with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.
This position has overall accountability for IT capabilities for our company's Research Laboratory Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO). This position has overall responsibility for managing the relationships for IT and our company's Research Laboratory business units.
Our company's Research Laboratory IT has begun a multi-year transformation to redefine the clinical trial platform that will enable the future pipeline for our company. This position will partner with business and IT leaders with responsibility for ensuring the alignment of the business and IT transformation along this journey. In addition, this role will have responsibility for the continued operations and improvements to ensure effective delivery of the current pipeline. The position will manage an organization of approximately 10 professionals including direct and indirect reports. The position will also have managerial responsibility for staff on a direct or shared reporting relationship.
Key responsibilities include:
* Serve as lead business relationship manager for GCTO; accountable to the SVP of GCTO.
* Shape and influence business strategy
* Partner with GCTO to ensure business and IT roadmaps are developed that meet GCTO needs
* Partner with business leads and IT leads to establish investment portfolio
* Partner with business leads to ensure that value realization of IT investments is maximized through the continued evolution of business value and opportunities
* All activities must be conducted in compliance with company policies and standards, and in compliance with regional and country specific regulations.
* Partner with strategic vendors to maximize the value realization of long-term partnerships.
* Partner with our company's Research Laboratory IT Engineering, CTO and TIO&E organizations to ensure effective operations, project delivery and execution.
* Provide thought leadership internally and externally on the continual evolution of clinical trial development. Including telehealth and clinical digital transformation
* Financial stewardship of approximately $30M annual IT portfolio
Travel will be required (25%).
Education and Skills Required
Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in science or computer related field.
Minimum Experience Required
Either:
At least 10 years of significant technical experience with large scale validated scientific computer systems.
Or:
Ten years of experience working closely with Clinical / Regulatory / Safety / research laboratories with a demonstrable interest in IT systems.
