Job Description
Local Manufacturing plant has an immediate opening for a Senior Safety Specialist in their Enterprise, Alabama plant for a direct hire position. This position will play a key role in developing and supporting the safety policies of two manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong safety and manufacturing background Salary DOE- minimum $60.000.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain a safety-focused workforce through policies, training programs, and activities as needed for employees at all levels to ensure high safety standards throughout the facilities in order to maintain or exceed OSHA regulations.
Actively participate in weekly safety meetings, develop pro-active, safety-oriented policies and procedures, prepare agenda, and provide information for safety training while overseeing the effective completion of interdepartmental safety meetings.
Routinely audit plant machinery, equipment, and personnel for compliance with safety regulations.
Inspect plant for existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
Maintain Worker's Compensation records, reporting, and audit report process investigate and follow up on all accidents and injuries. Submit reports of the above to the Safety Manager; negotiate fees and fines as applicable while representing the organization in a professional manner.
Monitor/maintain a training program for all operations.
Create general safety policies, written procedures, and training documents.
Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or Business-related field required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred: First Aid, CPR certification, CSP, OSHA safety training.
Plus: Bilingual in the Spanish language
