Job Description:
In this role, the Quality Engineer will perform a variety of quality-related functions in support of regulatory, customer, and company requirements/objectives. They will coordinate, develop, monitor and maintain all necessary procedures, controls and/or programs to assure compliance to regulatory, customer and company requirements.
* Provide quality service to internal and external customers in all assigned tasks while upholding L3Harris values
* Lead or perform product quality audits to assure compliance with customer, drawing, internal, and regulatory requirements
* Lead or perform system audits in support of the Quality/Environmental Management System
* Coordinate close out of audit findings through creation of audit finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions with the lead of the area being audited
* Provides liaison activities with customers and suppliers on all quality-related activities
* Review, identify, implement and maintain Customer Quality flow down requirements to ensure compliance
* Perform review of bid and proposal quality clauses and provide compliance matrix
* Perform review of customer quality clauses, quality documents and provide compliance matrix
* Support operations to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
* Analyze product and process failures to ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for internal and external customers
* Review trend analyses related to field returns, manufacturing rejects, supplier history, etc and provide recommendations for improvement
* Participate or lead root cause corrective action investigations and implementation to address internal, external, customer and/or supplier issues to improve overall product and process quality
* Participate with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data
* Responsible for leading and/or participating in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S or Kaizon.
* Perform FAA Designee authorized functions (as required)
* Responsible for performing job duties in a manner consistent with established L-3 Ethics Standards
* Responsible for working in a manner consistent with established safety rules and regulations
* Performs job duties in accordance with approved procedures established in support of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Qualification:
* Bachelor's Degree (preferred degree in Engineering, Quality or Business) and minimum 4 years of prior quality related experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior quality experience or 8 years equivalent experience working in Quality Engineering
* 4 years of prior related experience working as Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or Aerospace environment
* 1 to 2 years experience performing design reviews including inspectability, consistency, adequacy, accuracy, and conformance to customer requirements and provide recommendations for improvement
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Ability to write and clearly verbalize quality procedures and processes
* Working knowledge of Certification Authority Regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, etc)
* Experience as a Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
* ASQ and/or RABQSA Certified Quality Auditor and/or Lead Auditor.
* Knowledge and capability utilizing quality concepts and tools (i.e., six-sigma, TQM, QFD, SPC, SQC, DOE, ANOVA, etc.);
* Working knowledge of computer application software, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ACCESS, etc
* Working knowledge of AS9100/AS9110 requirements
