Job Description:
Under general supervision, prepares and coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, epoxies, or enamel using a spray gun according to detailed specifications. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using a brush.
Essential Functions:
* Apply paints, epoxies, or finishes using a spray gun to achieve matches, shades and/or special finishes
* Prepares surfaces by cleaning and masking over areas that are not to be coated
* Maintains, regulates and operates drying ovens, and spray guns
* Mixes and blends paint to achieve desired finish according to drawings or specifications.
* A high level of accuracy and an eye for detail is needed to make sure that the finish of the paint is of the highest standard
* The ability to concentrate for extended periods of time while spraying by hand
* Must have good coordination and dexterity to apply accurate and consistent layers of primer and paint
* Maintain records about the work in process and completed and keep accurate records of stock levels
* Label, Marking and Packaging of painted products.
* Touch up of Painted products.
Qualifications:
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
* Utilize paint in a spray gun
* Mask and touch up paint to a Blue print.
* Mark/Label product to a blue print.
* Inspect parts to paint and blue print requirements
