Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an EO/IR Software Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Linthicum/ Baltimore, MD.

Roles amp; Responsibilities: Software System Engineers work with a team to support product development and Research amp; Development activities at our campus in Linthicum, MD. Based on detailed trade studies and requirements analysis, our engineers develop modern solutions to satisfy current system requirements as well as future challenges and perform functions involved in all aspects of design which can include:
* Designing software system architectures deployable to varied computing and network topologies
* Developing signal processing algorithms to extract and exploit features from multi-spectral sensor packages
* Creating test frameworks and procedures that support system integration through the entire development lifecycle
* Collaborating with a multi-disciplined engineering team to ensure maximum utility of system resources
* Analyzing data collected during test phases to determine best options for improving system performance
* Maintaining vision on current quot;state of the art quot; and understanding the best way to apply those concepts to EO/IR software systems
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor 39;s Degree in Software, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM discipline with at least 2 years of related experience (0 years with a Masters Degree)
* 2 years of experience working with software using C++
* Experience with networking protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, etc
* Experience developing in a real-time embedded environment
* Previous experience working with EO/IR or closely related sensor products.
* Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
* Masters Degree in Software or Electrical Engineering
* 4 years or more of C++ software programming experience
* Proficiency in MATLAB
* Experience integrating software with hardware sensors
* Interest in big picture systems-type knowledge (ie how components fit into the entire system, demonstrates intellectual curiosity, etc)
* Experience working with large data sets
* Experience working with data in a 3D environment
