Job Description

Work Schedule: 7am-3:30pm

The primary purpose of the Plumber is to provide skilled plumbing work of the journeyman level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic water, steam, natural gas, sewer, compressed air, vacuum, medical gases, and other utility systems. Responsible for assigned plumbing duties either issued orally or by written instructions. May be responsible for the supervision of all plumbing and piping work for production and quality control purposes.

ESSENTIAL JOB

Interprets and works from instructions, blueprints, sketches and diagrams in the installation of plumbing systems. Estimates cost of work and may order materials and maintain inventory. Performs a variety of plumbing work incidental to the installation and repair of air conditioning, refrigeration and other building systems. May coordinate the workflow of technicians and mechanics. Investigates outages.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Work Plan & Documentation Interprets and works from blueprints, sketches and diagrams. Estimates cost of work and may order materials and maintain inventory. Discusses issues, concerns and process improvement options with Supervisor. Responsible for completing work order and asset documentation according to CMMS Standards. Provides accurate information on labor hours & material used to complete the work, work preformed, notes any additional required work &/or asset information.

Preventive Maintenance Performs Preventive Maintenance on Plumbing equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and CMMS directed work.

Corrective Maintenance Installs, maintains and repairs variety of plumbing work incidental to the installation and repair of air conditioning, refrigeration and other building systems. Cuts and threads pipes. Connects and maintains water units.

Team and Work Load Support Investigates outages, supports or preforms other work as necessary in the management the work load

On-Call The employee may be expected to be part of an on-call group, and when assigned this responsibility, will be compensated for that time. When on-call, the employee must be available and be able to respond in accordance to policy. Periods of alert when Emergency Conditions may be expected are not considered on-call.

Essential Personnel This position is considered essential personnel in the event of suspension of normal operations due to inclement weather or other emergencies. They are required to perform duties as outlined in the Emergency Management Plans.

High school diploma or equivalent.

One year post-journeyman experience plumbing experience.

All of the following: Licensed as Journeyman Plumber in the State of Texas Medical Gas Piping Installation Endorsement by the State of Texas.

Preferred Certification: Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
