Responsibilities
* Works with a wide range of proprietary, industry-standard and open-source data stores and tools to assemble, organize and analyze data
* Converts data into actionable insights
* Utilizes data visualization tools to tell an effective story
* Leverages a variety of statistical and mathematical techniques and algorithms to analyze a variety of datasets to solve complex business problems
* Develops statistical models and designs controlled experiments to test ideas and validate hypotheses
* Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions
* Researches, develops and implements new methods of measuring and analyzing datasets/processes
Required Skills
* Deep understanding of data structure and strong SQL skills (experience building stored procedures and troubleshooting data quality issues)
* Data mining, statistical tools, packages and/or modeling techniques (Python, SAS, SQL, Tableau)
* Adept at navigating relational databases
* Practical knowledge of advanced statistical techniques, predictive modeling, time series forecasting, and text mining
* Adept at explaining and converting complex concepts into digestible information to be consumed by audiences at various levels of the business
* Strong storytelling capabilities
* Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Preferred Skills
* Masters Degree with 2+ years of advanced analytics experience
* Functional industry experience in operations, marketing, credit/risk, technology or finance
* Knowledge of the mortgage industry
