1st, 2nd, & 3rd Shift Production Technicians
Processing and Packaging Departments

Starting Wage $16.80 - $18.30

REPORTS TO

Team Leader

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Supports all safety initiatives and performs assigned safety responsibilities including Near Miss, Risk Predictions, and Behavior Observation programs.
* Ensures that all operating systems necessary to ensure food safety and quality are functioning properly; such as jar cleaners, coding equipment, HMI set points, quality computers, etc.
* Responsible for all necessary quality checks, inspections and reacts accordingly.
* Maintains documentation and production records that are legible, accurate, complete and in full compliance with all plant, corporate quality, and regulatory requirements.
* Understands and applies HACCP, plant quality, plant GMPs, and food safety requirements to the daily performance of the job.
* Safely operates and maintains all packaging equipment. Responsible for: equipment setup, change-overs, assembly, center lines, startups, normal operation, trouble-shooting, maintenance, shutdown, cleaning, sanitation, and inspection.
* Drives plant efforts to achieve production efficiency, downtime reduction, drive out losses, and schedule adherence goals.
* Support Total Employee Involvement (TEI) by participating in; Functional Leadership, System and/or Sub Key Element Ownership, or other high performance initiatives intended to promote improved plant performance.
* Communicates with team leaders, maintenance, packaging and processing personnel to achieve self-sufficient team goals.
* Works closely with team members, maintenance, and sanitation to ensure all equipment is maintained and in sanitary condition (ex. CILs, PMs, identify defects and abnormalities, SQF audit, etc.)
* Keeps work station neat and organized.
* All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High-school degree or equivalent is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions. Good communication skills are required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to stand and walk at minimum 85% of the time.
* The employee must be able to work 8 hours shifts with Saturday overtime when required.
* The employees must occasionally push or pull up to 100 pounds and should be able to lift 30-35 pounds on a frequent basis.
* The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on an occasional basis.
* The employee must be able to work in a warm environment (could exceed 90 degrees) in the summer months.
* The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to allergens in our plant of milk, eggs, wheat, fish, tree nuts and soy.
* The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.
* The noise level in the work environment is above 85 decibels and hearing protection is required.

VISION

Employee is required to have a minimum of 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses. The applicant must pass a standard eye exam.
