Overview

The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Join our Perioperative Medical Clinic team at Methodist Hospital!

The following duties include but are not limited to: providing education for patients going into surgery, lab draws, making phone calls to patients getting a recent history, rooming patients and reviewing their vital signs, facilitating phone calls, providing education on ERAS. This is also includes completing duties of anything that is asked within the scope of nursing practice revolving around preparing patients for surgery.

Hours: M-F between 8am to 4:30pm (approx)

No Weekends, No Holidays, No Call!

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities

* Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
* Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
* Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
* Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
