The Finance Summer Intern program with Hobart Weigh Wrap is designed to give students the hands-on exposure to daily finance and accounting operations, projects and research. This student will work alongside our Finance team on projects supporting business plans through the summer and present their accomplishments to the team at the close of the internship. This internship is a part of the ITW Enterprise Internship Program and applicants should have a strong desire to seek employment with ITW post-graduation. This position is in Troy, Ohio.
Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Finance Department. This individual will engage with the finance team to gain first-hand experience in financial analysis, accounts payable, accounting techniques, standard practices and accounting procedures in a corporate setting. The successful candidate will be a self-directed, results-oriented and customer focused individual and will have a strong interest in working with our business full time upon graduation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work with the finance team to learn and execute journal entry processes
Learn the accounts payable function (including keying and paying invoices and associated accounting)
Preparation of month-end close process
Processing of expense reports and related accounting
Ensure compliance with all Company and Financial Reporting policies and internal controls
Learn how to analyze accounts to understand fluctuations and review balance sheet reconciliation
Communicate around financial considerations with other departments in the business
Any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role and in line with skills and experience
Qualifications
Enrolled in Finance or Accounting or equivalent degree-seeking program with classroom experience through the junior/senior year.
Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
GPA of 3.2 or above.
Attention to detail with accuracy is a must
Proficiency in MS Office software, specifically Excel, Word and Power Point
Excellent communication and customer interaction skills
