This team supports research in using AI to model catalysts for use in applications related to energy and climate change. The team is responsible for building the frameworks and tools that support research in this area as well as conducting research in collaboration with FAIR's researchers. The Open Catalyst Project is building models to efficiently and accurately model the effect of catalysts on the reactions of interest. This process includes collecting large datasets for model training, developing models, and deploying these models at scale. In this role, you will embed deeply with researchers at Facebook AI Research (FAIR) and develop experiments and prototypes at the frontier of AI Research and catalysis. You will need to engage with research topics and cover new domains quickly; build expertise with Facebook data and tools; apply high standards to the research code around you and develop an ability to identify highly impactful projects in a complex and unexplored domain. You will gain valuable experience in AI and catalysis, publish academic papers and help advance the catalysis and AI research fields.
