Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain good working relationships with external customers, managing assigned accounts as necessary
Resolve day-to-day problems with customers by telephone and email as well as managing customer inquiries within our Customer Relationship Management tool(s)
Provide customer a professional quotation related to his RFQ in coordination with Application Engineering, Sales and Pricing if necessary
Enter customer complaints in the system and provide constant feedback to the customer on the actions being taken by OC departments/ coordinate authorization of return of product
Enter and expedite orders in an accurate and timely manner using SAP
Invoicing the customers/cancellation if necessary, applying pricing policy for designated customer
Back - office support to Sales Managers
Manage the formalized delivery process and capture changes to delivery dates
Pro-actively communicate to and with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and engagement
Work closely with our internal departments Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, Application Engineering, Product Line Management, Finance
Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
Attend all necessary product training classes
Escalate problems to Team Leader/Manager as necessary
Qualifications:
Higher education level required
First experience in Customer Service
Fluent in English and German where other European languages are beneficial
Outstanding verbal/written communication skills
Experienced in working with MS Office and SAP
Customer orientation
Ability to learn remotely and work with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to a high level of accuracy
Excellent team player and ability to work with a larger remote group
Strong problem solving skills
Willingness to travel to other Corning sites as needed
Basic accounting knowledge will be a plus
Commercial understanding is required
