The Student Nurse/ Nurse Intern assists with direct patient care, including vital signs, personal hygiene, dietary needs, ambulation and signed off nursing skills, for neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Reports to the patient care nurse and charge nurse. Responsible for demonstrating ethical and appropriate clinical behavior while continually assuring the patients dignity, privacy and rights with respect to the populations.

POSITION PURPOSE The Student Nurse/ Nurse Intern assists with direct patient care, including vital signs, personal hygiene, dietary needs, ambulation and signed off nursing skills, for neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Reports to the patient care nurse and charge nurse.
Responsible for demonstrating ethical and appropriate clinical behavior while continually assuring the patients dignity, privacy and rights with respect to the populations.
Population served:
Pediatric (1-12 years)
Adolescent (13-17 years)
Adult (18 years to 69 years)
Geriatric (70 years and older)
Reports to: Department Director
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must have completed the first semester of RN school that must have covered the fundamentals of nursing.
Experience: None
Licenses/Certifications:
Currently enrolled in nursing school. Must submit transcript showing successful completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
Must have a current BLS certification prior to hire date. Certification must be approved by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (hands on skills test).
