Job Title: Payroll Coordinator Trainee -- Entry Level
The primary function of this role is to perform NFPA-based inspections of water based fire systems, fire alarm systems, and fire extinguishers. Travel to customer sites will be required.
This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast paced multi tasked environment with a focus towards customer development and support, quality work performance, and an understanding of all the necessary NFPA codes that support each fire system. Travel to customer sites will be required.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Perform basic troubleshooting of wet based fire systems, and describe them to owners and service managers for repairs.
* Receives and reviews payroll records ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, regulations, and Union contracts.
* Enters payroll into systems; processes, calculates, and posts a variety of payroll actions including wage garnishments, benefits withholding, and overtime hours.
* Prepares, balances, and corrects payroll reports.
* Prepares payroll and all related payroll reports including tax payments, W-2's, Union payments, child support and garnishments, and other year-end reports.
* Checks records and papers for clerical and arithmetic accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures.
* Investigates all employee payroll questions by researching payroll documents and following up with banking institutions.
* Maintains a variety of files and records related to the payroll system.
* Enters new employees, retirements, and terminations; makes permanent payroll employee changes to benefits, taxes, address, and deductions.
* Maintains Direct Deposit, setup of employee bank information, send prenotes, and send ACH files to bank.
* Maintains all PAF changes in TCMS and Source.
* Researches and analyzes regulatory updates and other information impacting the payroll system; implements required changes, changes tax rates.
* Perform weekly inventory accrual process.
* Send new employees Time Clock Plus Log-in Information and answer any questions regarding Time Clock Plus.
* Performs related duties as required.

Education / Work Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED is required.
* 1+ years of payroll experience is required.
* Advanced knowledge of MS-Excel is required.
* HRIS experience is a plus.
* Previous union payroll experience is a plus.
* Construction industry experience is a plus.
Computer Skills:
* Computer Skills: Significant experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
