The Specialty Support and Service Teams are responsible for risk management, complex problem solving and process improvement for Schwabs retail business.
This position will support the onboarding of new complex accounts, understand the clients business & investment objectives to meet Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, set expectations with the client, and ensure the appropriate Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements are met both at on-boarding and through the life of the account. In addition, this position will have the opportunity to work on projects and/or requests with cross-functional partners including but not limited to branch network, service centers, operations, legal, AML, CVRC and compliance.
We work closely with complex, high risk relationships and high net worth clients. We advocate on behalf of our clients, financial professionals, and we work with the field and other partners to ensure key processes / interactions are designed and executed smoothly.
This person is required to be flexible and adaptive to support the flex force business strategy. The position is an individual contributor role that reports to the Senior Team Manager.

Maintaining a thorough understanding of the clients line of business, account purpose and/or expected activity at Schwab
In depth interactions with client to better understand account structure and request/review additional information to support EDD
Ensuring all CDD and EDD requirements are met and follow-up with client as necessary for additional information
Partnering with internal service teams/FCs, or other personnel, to understand the clients complete relationship at Schwab, including accounts in which the agents or beneficial owners have a role
Partnering with AML-EDD, Complex Account Review Team (CART) and other oversight partners to ascertain level of risk to Schwab based on stated purpose, expected activity and structure
Review KYC Media Referrals to determine what level, if any, risk exists and communicate determination rationale to appropriate decision makers.
Preparing, and in some situations, presenting cases for business acceptance review groups
Partnering with leadership and various oversight partners to understand and ensure policies and procedures are followed
Conducting ongoing account periodic reviews with client/FC if assigned
Reviewing transactional monitoring reports and research, as necessary, in coordination with service teams/FC to support ongoing due diligence
Actively mentor, coach, develop and offer assistance to new and existing team members, service teams, AML, CVRC, CART, and other partners displaying leadership amongst peers
Ensuring due diligence surrounding high risk individuals satisfies both regulatory and business requirements. Work closely with AML to assess the risks and mitigation steps surrounding high risk individuals
Collaborate with partners at all levels throughout the organization (including but not limited to the Branch Network, Supervision & Controls, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Risk, Schwab Bank, Asset Management Client Solutions and Operations)
Analyze client requests of diverse scope and work closely with partners to resolve them
Facilitate the IS decision-making process by ensuring that we appropriately balance risk and reward
Identify opportunities to modify existing processes to efficiently manage escalations
Document client needs, assess which ones may warrant modifications to existing processes, and lead those changes
Demonstrate strong ability to collaborate with team members to develop solutions, champion the Schwab Challenger Brand and foster employee engagement
Develop recommendations and a business case to support them
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Track project, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
Apply a risk-based approach to projects and cases, identifying potential risk issues, and recommending mitigating controls
Proactively identify and actively participate autonomously in projects to completion in support of the team and the business.
What you have
Bachelors degree required; 5+ years of experience with business project management
Financial Services experience and/or International Business experience preferred
Licenses: Series 7 required and Series 9/10 preferred

Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to distill complex information, develop recommendations and present to senior management
Ability to manage a diverse set of priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Comfort with ambiguity and an ability to create a clear path forward in such situations
Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines with little supervision
Curiosity, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment
Outstanding soft skills - including the ability to work well with a diverse range of partners
Proven working experience in project management
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Must be able to maintain an overall vision of assigned projects and communicate the status to all levels of senior leadership.
