Network Engineer, Senior

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. Thats why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to craft the exact network Army needs.
As a network engineer on our team, youll work with the Army to plan, design, implement, and maintain a reliable to support network data and voice telecommunications systems to support research and development efforts. Youll collaborate with engineers, customers, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. Youll then share your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, youll put your hardware and software talents to good use. You Have:
* 5+ years of experience with network engineering in a professional work environment
* Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) routing
* Experience identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance
* Knowledge of convergence routing, switching, IP accelerators, and telephony VoIP systems
* Ability to provide IT solutions to business and management problems
* TS/SCI clearance
* HS diploma or GED
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
* DoD Cyber Security Workforce Certification
Nice If You Have:
* Knowledge of IXIA Breaking Point products, Virtualization, including VMware, HyperV, or KVM and Openstack Cloud Architecture
* Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) Networking
* BA or BS degree in CS, Information Systems, or EE
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification preferred
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
