Job Description
Bioinformatics Software Engineer, Senior
Key Role:
Design and implement bioinformatics and genomic analysis solutions on a cloud-based platform. Integrate standardized or custom bioinformatics pipelines and create custom analytic and data mining algorithms to help extract knowledge and meaning from vast stores of data. Refine a data processing pipeline focused on unstructured and semi-structured health data refinement. Design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutions. Ensure quality delivery of software through thorough testing and reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
* Experience with bioinformatics software development
* Experience with publicly-available tools, algorithms, or databases for genome analysis
* Experience with various programming languages that include R, Python, Java, Scala, or SQL
* Experience with developing an enterprise-grade software application
* Experience with working in an Agile environment
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
* Experience with working in and developing solutions in cloud-based computing environments, such as AWS or Azure
* Experience with SMART on FHIR
* Experience with Hadoop
* MS degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering preferred; PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering a plus
