The Team

Interns at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air are embedded within their teams and work on visible projects that directly impact our guests and the business. This internship is for summer 2021 and is designed for a commitment of 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12-week program.

Role Summary

Key Duties

* Process and analyze employee safety reports while monitoring for potential hazards

* Participate in Safety Risk Assessments, helping to ensure that hazards are mitigated before a new process or procedure is implemented

* Support the coordination of internal and external safety audits across the network

* Assist the Operational Safety Managers with safety event investigations and summaries

* Help to promote our Safety Management System by assisting with the publishing of newsletters

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

* Internship positions are open to current undergraduate students in their junior year who are enrolled in a full-time course of study graduating between December 21 and June 22

* Academic focus in aviation, safety or a related field

* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

* Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening)

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Minimum age of 18.

* Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

* Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 5

* Familiarity with FAA ACs 120-66C & 120-92B

* Previous employment within the aviation industry

USD $17.00/Hr.
