Position Description:

Identifies, promotes, and implements best practices for data modeling, using open-source database solutions -- Postgre SQL and Maria DB. Participates in requirement gathering sessions to understand business and systems requirements for supporting technical initiatives in an Agile environment. Participates in all design sessions and writes technical project documentations, using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Cl/CD) methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Converts business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models for data warehouses and marts, using Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse tools.

Provides technical recommendations and optimizes data access and retention providing oversight for activities related to data cleansing, quality, consolidation, and integration, using standard data modeling methodologies and processes.

Works with Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) tools to design specifications that map data models to actual source and target data elements.

Works with database administrators to implement physical models or change models as needed.

Provides support to testing teams for ETL and reporting development activities.

Performs ETL design and coding to support data warehouse and mart projects using Informatica.

Creates functions, procedures, and packages, and optimizes queries for optimal performance of data warehouse and marts, and reports within an Oracle database.

Participates in on-call rotations and provides support for batch jobs and data warehouse reports.

Partners with key stakeholders to understand business questions, and to design and deliver analytic reports.

Collaborates with team members to develop visualization and improve data and analytics usage across the business.

Designs, conducts, and evaluates experimental operational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data.

Specifies manipulative or computational methods to be applied to models.

Performs validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulating models as necessary.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience performing business intelligence data warehousing development, using Oracle, DB2, Informatica, Tableau, and OBIEE.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience performing business intelligence data warehousing development, using Oracle, DB2, Informatica, Tableau, and OBIEE.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

* Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing business intelligence data warehousing development, using Oracle, DB2, Informatica, Tableau, and OBIEE; performing relational and dimensional data modeling and analysis of datasets for financial services; performing database creation and ETL design, using Oracle and SQL Developer Data Modeler according to strong operational standards; mentoring junior team members in technical standards and best practice; and translating business requirements into technical designs in a fast-paced Agile delivery model
* DE extracting data from OLTP/OLAP data stores/flat files and loading them into warehouse environments -- operational data stores, reporting databases, and data marts -- using ETL processing, Informatica Power Center, Python, VBA, shell script, and stored procedures and functions; scheduling and executing batch jobs using Control-M; creating dependencies to load and process data between batch jobs in Control-M; and performing database releases according to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices, using Service Now, UDeploy, and Stash.
* DE designing and implementing on premise data management platforms -- creating file based data stores in Oracle DB2 and implementing data ingest and aggregation tools; writing SQL queries to retrieve and store data in Oracle and DB2; determining access provisions for unstructured and relational data; and implementing reporting solutions -- multiplatform reporting, performing data analysis, and establishing role base cross department data access -- using Tableau Server and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE).
* DE working with multi-department business users to extract business needs and requirements, and translate those requirements into data and governance solutions for business domains -- Enterprise Cybersecurity, Finance, and Human Resources -- using JIRA, Power Designer, and Agile processes; performing enterprise business intelligence delivery, using Tableau and OBIEE toolsets; and working with BI developers to structure and tune data to support business intelligence needs.

History of Fidelity Investments

The Fidelity Fund was established in 1930, a year after the stock market crash of 1929 and before the Great Depression of 1933. The fund continued to operate until 1943 when it was acquired by Boston-based lawyer Edward C. Johnson II. At the time, the fund reported assets under management valued at $3 million. In 1946, Johnson II founded the Fidelity Management and Research Company, now Fidelity Investments, to serve as an investment advisor to the Fidelity Fund. When running the fund, Johnson’s objective was to buy stocks with a potential for growth, and not necessarily blue-chip stocks.
