We are looking for an Downstream Application Specialist to work with our expert Downstream BioProcess Specialist team of forty employees across the Globe. Do you have a passion for Science & BioProcess? Then we would love to hear from you.
What youll do
* Develop and maintain business relationships through personal contact on a regular on-going basis to provide resin design in focus for Biotech and translational accounts in their territory
* Provide expert technical leadership during sales process by demonstrating product and application knowledge for Cytiva resin products. Support Research and Process Development customers with technical chromatography dialogue, resin screening, experimental set up, DOE and HTPD work.
* Assist with Process Design using experience, knowledge of diverse molecules, and process optimization. Provide scale up and process productivity considerations as needed to achieve successful purifications.
* Provide advanced application focused AKTA training in Process Development labs. Supporting complex AKTA configurations and well as column packing of Cytiva resins from lab columns through small scale Axichrom columns.
* Support Downstream process trouble shooting for Cytiva products. Provide chromatography resin and Akta application information, answer inquiries, give presentation, assist with logistics, and provide limited lab bench work.
* Use market and product knowledge to assist sales team in developing sales, marketing and customer account sales strategies. Provide competitive product/market reports and regular feedback on customer needs and satisfaction to internal stakeholders
* Act as a mentor to new field team members, providing product, technical and professional guidance as necessary to improve the customer experience. Assist with the assimilation of new hires into the organization.
* Accountable to the Downstream Modality for performance of area sales goals. Work with assigned area sales team to meet and exceed Modality annual sales targets
* Communicate with other Modality Applications Specialists and Account Managers to ensure all customer and business needs are met
Who you are
* BS Degree in Science (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry) or Engineering
* Good understanding and knowledge of the Biopharmaceutical /Biotech Industry and strong, working knowledge of chromatography plus hands on experience in protein purification.
* Three years of progressively responsible post-bachelor's experience as Research Scientist or Chromatography Product Specialist, or Field Application/Technical Specialist is acceptable.
* Solid problem-solving skills - ability to resolve complex problems, communicate issues and propose solutions to both external customers and internal team members.
* Team oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset
* Ability to communicate effectively using local language
* Willingness to travel within geographic region as well as to periodic nationwide sales meetings and tradeshows
