Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is looking to fill the Software Quality Lead Engineer position responsible for supporting a distributed Software Quality Engineering (SwQE) organization. This position can be worked remote with up to 25% travel as required.

The Software Quality Lead Engineer is responsible for leading, consulting, and mentoring the Software Quality Engineers (SwQEs) across the RI&S business. This role includes directly supporting programs and assisting the SwQEs assigned to those programs to ensure that the Software Engineering work products delivered to our customers meet their specified technical requirements and were developed using appropriate and approved processes and procedures.

Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
* Ability to work within a cross-functional, matrixed organization in which there is close interaction and collaboration with Program Quality and Engineering.
* Ability to develop and implement an effective Software Quality Maturation Strategy designed to provide the business with an intelligent, capable, and value-added SwQE organization.
* Possess advanced software and software quality capabilities such as Software Assurance, Cybersecurity, progressive software methodologies, Development, Security, and Operation (DevSecOps) concepts, code analysis techniques, software development pipeline and automation techniques.
* Possess advanced software testing techniques, SwQE road map planning and implementation, SwQE course development and delivery.
* Must be able to provide innovative leadership, change leadership, software requirements analysis, peer review of software and systems engineering artifacts (source code, design artifacts, test plans and procedures).
* Must be able to perform self-guided assessments of software development process compliance, implement defect trend analysis and root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities.
* Experience in final software acceptance testing and approval.

U.S. Citizenship required as the candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance within first year of start date.

Required Skills
* Minimum 12 years relevant work experience in Software Quality Engineering or Software Engineering
* Programming experience (i.e. UNIX, Java, C, C++, or C)
* Experience with proposal support and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
* Knowledgeable of Software Processes; the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), the software lifecycle; requirements, design, implementation, and software testing
* Experience with the development and analysis of System/Software requirements
* Experience in supporting Agile/Scrum software development
* Experience leading small teams and initiatives
* Experience in supporting a product based matrixed organization with multiple programs, in various stages of development and production
* Experience in coordinating efforts across multiple programs, managing conflicting schedules and priorities
* Experience with providing shared resource support for efforts with multiple, varying levels of funding
* Demonstrated problem solving, and organizational, planning, multitasking and interpersonal skills required
* Must be able to express ideas effectively in written and verbal form
* Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Ability to work with little supervision and direction

Desired Skills
* Experience in supporting multiple Software development teams in a compartmentalized security environment
* Knowledge in configuration management and control tools i.e. Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, PDM
* Experience in AS9100 and ISO9001 requirements
* Experience working in a DevSecOps development environment
* Experience and leadership in Value Stream Mapping
* Utilization of DevSecOps Metrics to monitor program performance and proliferate continuous improvement activities

Required Education
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
* Bachelor of Art Degrees in an appropriate field of science (Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics)
* Bachelor of Art Degree in Mathematics

Desired Education
* For the Bachelor of Art Degrees listed above, ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
