The Systems Engineering Center (SEC) is seeking strong, technically sound engineers committed and passionate about creating innovative, cost-effective solutions for complex remote sensing applications as a Responsible Systems Engineer with a focus on the opto-mechanical aspects of the hardware. The successful candidate will be a member of the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Communications Department. In this position you will take ownership of the unit level specification, support unit level assembly and integration, provide verification oversight of testing to ensure execution of the Requirements Verification Plan and Test Requirements Document at the unit level, complete technical review of Test Procedures, support Failure Review Board and Engineering Review Board, and perform final compliance assessment and documentation to sell-off the opto-mechanical assemblies and deliver to the Systems Engineering Team. In this role you will also generate and deliver requirements verification reports for system level requirements. This position will require proactive interaction and collaboration with personnel from various engineering functions and disciplines.
Required Skills:
* Minimum 8 years of engineering experience
* Strong background in Mechanical / Optics / Opto-Mechanical Engineering Design or Hardware
* Experience with requirements verification, validation and sell-off including verification report generation and review
* Experience with data review of opto-mechanical lab, test, and supplier data
* Experience with supporting formal reviews such as Test Readiness Review (TRR), Engineering Review Board (ERB), Failure Review Board (FRB), or Consent to Ship Review (CTSR)
* Experience with requirement management using IBM Rational DOORs
* Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills
* Team oriented individual with strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-discipline team
* Active and Current TS/SCI or completed SSBI within last 24 months required
