Who are we looking for
We seek passionate Senior Principal Machine Learning Engineers to join our team. As a Senior Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop robust solutions to real-world, large scale problems advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that have a direct impact on the business. You will develop and implement novel statistical and/or machine learning approaches to real-world, large scale problems that have a direct impact on the business. Youll be translating business problems into prediction predictive models and optimization programs, implemented with professional software engineering skills. The should also have a proven history of conceiving, executing, and delivering team leadership and value delivery, and also be comfortable working in a product model using Scrum strategically important technology projects. As a Principal Engineer, you will articulate a technology vision aligned to a critical business outcome, and to act as a technical leader to the teams involved in delivering that vision. Strong communication skills are critical for this role as you will be required to communicate your technical vision both down to individual team members and up to senior leaders for consensus.
What will you work on
Candidate will work with the Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning (AAML) team at Nike. With teammates in Portland, Boston, China, and Poland, you will join a global organization working to tackle machine learning problems at scale. You will craft and implement scalable applications that bring to bear prediction predictive models; with focus on combating digital frauds that result in incredible a measurable business and brand impact. You thrive when surrounded by hardworking colleagues and seek to never stop learning. You will also partner with Data Science groups and Enterprise Platform in Nike to define Data Science Platform strategy. We are looking for candidates who enjoy a collaborative and academic environment where we develop and share new skills; as well as mentor/contribute knowledge and software back to the analytics and engineering communities within Nike. You will provide leadership and direction in the innovation of ground-breaking fraud detection and analytical based solution with a focus on data science and applied ML techniques.

Who will you work with
In this role, you will work closely with our distributed team, along with Commercial and Consumer Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, and Solution Architecture. This role reports to a Director of Engineering on the AAML team.
What you bring
Bachelor's, Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science or related subject area
5 + years of validated experience in Cyber Security, Machine Learning and Data Science.
Working experience with Python, Pyspark, Machine learning (Supervised & Unsupervised) and deep learning frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch
Experience in mining features from Clickstream data, CDN and various big data sources to support anomaly detection/fraud related use cases is highly desired
Hands on experience with MLOps frameworks such as TensorFlow Extended, Kubeflow, Airflow or other workflow engines, Model Serving (Real time/batch) and distributed training.
Experience applying data science techniques to the cyber security problem set, and domains like Natural Language Processing (NLP), Bayesian models, graphical models, GNN, GAN and a variety of neural network approaches
Proven ability in interpreting/implementing methods described in research papers and articles in machine learning, deep learning, mathematical modeling and related fields.
Strong understanding of data and analytics, including experience with Big Data, real time and batch data processing is preferred.
End to end ownership of the engineering cycle for AI/ML
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and able to containerize and deploy models to production.
Data wrangling experience with structured and unstructured data
Strong problem solving and analytical mentality
Familiar Expertise with data structures and algorithms
Effective communication skills (with team members, the business, and in code)
