The Senior IT Project Manager oversees various agile programs and/or projects of a highly complex nature. The Senior IT Project Manager will work in a Program Manager / Release Train Engineer capacity and address problems of diverse scope and moderate complexity.

Responsibilities

The Senior IT Project Manager is an energetic and inspirational leader with a passion for mentoring and influential leadership. Serving in a Program Manager and Release Train Engineer (RTE) role they may lead a team of 2-6 Agile Project Managers who plan and deliver work within the programs scope. They oversee the interdependencies and integration of interrelated projects, set strategies, manage budgets and contractual commitments and lead small program execution to deliver longer term business value.

Where necessary the person in this role will lead transformation from a project to a product program structure and in help to mature agile ways of working into the SAFe framework while driving Agile best practices to ensure that we deliver the highest value.

The Senior IT Project Manager will manage risks and issues unique to technology projects. Advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

The successful candidate must be a self-starting team leader, who can work independently to guide the team with little guidance once a direction is chosen and is capable of building positive/trusting relationships with leaders and the teams they work with.

Required Qualifications

* Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of program leadership experience or equivalent experience
* SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification (or evidence that training and certification is in process)
* SAFe certification (2+ yrs Experience being a leader within a SAFe methodology framework also with familiarity of traditional project and program management methodologies
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to give frank and empathetic feedback and coaching
* Experience with managing agile programs at the solution level
* Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving ability

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree in Business Administration

* Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute certification

* Experience in the health solutions industry
