SCHEDULE: Full-time

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. County-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

SHIFT: Mixed with rotating weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Controlled Substance Technician Specialist is an integral role in the oversight of controlled substances and facility

regulatory processes. Responsibilities include: managing the controlled substance inventory, providing information needed for

the Multidisciplinary Diversion Team (MDT) analysis by using analytical tools, reviewing controlled substance overrides,

performing audits and reconciliations, assist during investigations, participation in discrepancy resolutions, responsible for

accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for

performing cross functional duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), other specialized duties, and/or

leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: >3 Years of Hospital Experience

Preferred: Past experience with controlled substance diversion surveillance programs

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Required: Pharmacy Technician Certification

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred: Associates Degree/Bachelors Degree
