Job Description:

This position is on the Engineering Data Acquisition and Analytics section within Caterpillars Integrated Components and Solutions Division. The Engineering Data Acquisition and Analytics section supports product engineering teams throughout Caterpillar through the collection and analysis of engineering data from Caterpillar products.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Developing embedded software for the remote collection, storage, and transmission of engineering data
* Developing application software used to configure remote data collection units
* Remotely configuring and troubleshooting data collection units on company and customer equipment
* Monitoring data collection activities to reduce missing or inaccurate data
* Supporting numerous projects simultaneously
* Automate the daily analysis of new data

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum plus 5 to 11 years of experience, or an advanced degree in an Engineering or Computer Science curriculum plus 4 to 10 years of experience.
* Mastery of embedded software languages, development tools and processes.
* Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills.
* Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

* Experience with C/C++/C for Windows user interfaces, command line applications, COM servers, DLLS, database access; C/C++ for embedded Linux, MQX applications, Python
* Experience with communication protocols/interfaces: CAN, J1939, CCP, XCP, TCP/UDP/IP, Modbus, RP1210
* Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical issues with power, wiring harnesses, etc.
* Excellent analytical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Familiarity with CADeT & SuperComm2 (SC2)
