The Clinical Trial Payments Manager provides leadership and operational support for clinical trial vendor-related payment execution. This position reports to the Associate Director (AD), Payments & Compliance and is based in Lawrenceville, New Jersey or San Diego, California. The Clinical Trial Payments Manager provides direct supervision, mentoring and coaching to contingent staff and is responsible for monitoring, prioritizing and delegating work assignments to ensure maximum productivity. Under the supervision of the AD, the Payments Manager is accountable for the implementation of best practices, process and continuous improvements in the management, quality and delivery of clinical trial payments.

* Provides leadership and team support while supporting the Associate Director, Payments & Compliance
* Directs and oversees activities for clinical trial vendor-related payment execution through effective leadership with an am emphasis on compliance and colleague development
* Establishes procedures for process improvement within the team environment while ensuring consistency with organizational practices.
* Participates in the implementation of team initiatives and strategies
* Monitor payments performance through active reporting and alert systems
* Provides operational support and coordination of clinical trial vendor-related payment processes for the Payments & Compliance team under the supervision of the AD
* Collaborates with the broader team and supports troubleshooting, resolution and follow-up of vendor payment inquiries and issues

Competency Requirements:

* A minimum of three years experience in financial or health sciences or related industries (pharmaceutical, hospital-based, laboratory, CRO, etc.)
* Working knowledge of clinical trials, contracts and Scope of Work documents, Clinical Trial Management Systems and medical terminology.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop department staff members.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and with a wide range of internal and external partners
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with limited supervision and build strong relationships with internal and external partners
* Ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience and influence others, at multiple levels of the enterprise
* Strong written and verbal communications
* Subject Matter Expert in matters related to vendor, operational and financial governance
* Extensive knowledge of the financial systems and payment process as it relates to the operational and financial management of clinical trials
* Proven ability to partner effectively with colleagues and vendors across multiple functions, geographies and at all levels of the enterprise.
* Strong stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with limited supervision
* Ability to sustain high levels of individual and team performance in a constantly changing environment
* Helps monitor and prioritize team resources and workload
* Supports training and onboarding of new hires as needed
* Participates in special projects as needed

Education Requirements:

* Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, or related field
* A minimum of three years of responsible leadership experiences in management or supervisory positions
