The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Total Quality and Operations, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer (Level 4), in El Segundo, CA. Boeing El Segundo is the home of the Satellite Center supporting commercial and government platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
* Understands and applies Quality practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
* Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
* Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
* Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
* Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
* Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
* Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
* Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
* Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
* Works under general direction.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
* 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, or Supplier Quality Specialist
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Experience in Project Management
* Experience Organizational Development
* Familiarity with using Lean+ and/or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools and techniques
* American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification
Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
