Team Overview

The Alternatives Digital Strategy team within BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) is responsible for delivering scale for the next stage of growth within BAI by developing the market standard for alternatives technology.

BlackRock acquired eFront in 2019 to accelerate our alternatives technology capabilities given the significant growth in alternative investments in our clients portfolios. Our objective is to offer BAI investment professionals the best technology and analytical solutions to help them better understand and manage their alternative investment portfolios. The team will implement eFront for our BAI investment teams and work with our colleagues in BlackRock Solutions ( BRS ) and the Aladdin Product Group ( APG ) to continually enhance functionality by designing future technology roadmaps for the eFront product suite. Additionally, this team will tactically design on-desk solutions for critical investment processes that are not in scope for the eFront product suite.

The Digital Strategy team is currently seeking a Product Manager to work closely with our investor community, engineers and partner teams in building new technology for Private Markets to deliver scale for the next stage of growth within BAI.

Role and Responsibilities

* Lead product development and strategic vision for the next generation Private Markets Technology for BAI
* Partner with key stakeholders in APG & BRS to co-develop the product roadmaps for evolving eFront/Aladdin product
* Champion the Aladdin/eFront roadmaps and tactical solutions by activating our investor and client community
* Analyze core business processes and interactions within our organization and look for areas to improve efficiency through a deep understanding of our investment teams needs
* Develop a single source of truth by establishing an enterprise data platform; Build data-centric self-service environments so that investment teams spend time on analysis, rather than on data manipulation and quality control.
* Lead with a data driven mindset that tracks and measures usage and metrics to advise product strategy and deployment strategy
* Drive client adoption and engagement to promote eFront usage across BAI.
* Champion a Product oriented culture for all digital transformation projects and inject best product management practices through development lifecycle.
* Serve as Digital Advisor to various platform excellence initiatives within the business by driving cross-team collaboration and fostering a culture of innovation using technology.

Qualifications

* 7-10+ years experience working in financial services (alternative investments experience preferred), specifically in product management, engineering, analytics, operations, risk management or data management
* Advanced degree in the fields of computer science, data science & engineering, finance or accounting. MBA or Industry specific certifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA) are a plus
* Solid track record of delivering highly technical products in leadership roles like product manager or engineering lead.
* Prior experience in change management, implementing strategic initiatives or technology roadmaps with solid grounding in product management, user engagement and agile methodologies.
* Prior experience in one or many of the following disciplines: software development, data science & engineering, portfolio analytics and business process reengineering
* Prior experience of managing highly talented and dynamic teams to deliver creative technology solutions
* Platform knowledge in eFront, Aladdin or other Private Markets Technology products are preferable
