Job Title: Senior Developer

Location: Reston, VA

Purpose and Objective:

SuccessFactors, Inc seeks a Senior Developer at our Reston, VA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team.

Expectations and Tasks:

Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and support others in resolving issues. Show initiative and drive topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. Work closely together with others and share expertise to ensure product success. Constantly improve own work methods to gain state-of-the-art agile software engineering skills. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Utilize overall product and technical knowledge and share expertise within and across team and organization. Work with development processes and product standards. If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Teams progress. 10% travel required.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field of study and 6 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 4 years of experience.

Work Experience:

* Experience must include 4 years in the following: design, develop, implement and maintain web applications using Java Platform Enterprise Edition, Spring Framework and iBatis; design and develop Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using RESTful web services, SOAP, WSDL, JSON and XML; design and develop user interface using different frameworks such as JSP, Servlets, JSF, React JS and Angular JS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; write database SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and triggers in different databases like Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL; develop automation test using test driven development using frameworks such as Cucumber; Object Oriented Programing, design patterns and microservices; analyze, fix and resolve software defects; review code, develop source code documentation and perform static code analysis using Git, GitHub, SonarQube and SVN; cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure; and development tools such as Eclipse, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, JIRA, Docker. 10% travel required.
