Apple's Synthetic Data Group is looking for a Pipeline engineer to help build out the foundational pipeline components that will be the backbone to generating synthetic data. Working closely with Infrastructure as well as Synthetic Data Engineers, the role focuses on creating stable pipeline components and building out innovative workflows that will help drive scale and efficiency. A strong background in both production and tools in games, films , or VFX will provide a solid foundation to be effective in this role. Expect to work in a fast paced multifunctional environment focusing on both immediate technical needs and long term technical solutions. To succeed within this role, you should have shown experience in several of the following areas:
Key Qualifications
Key Qualifications
* 5+ years of production experience developing pipeline features for feature films, games or VFX pipelines
* Knowledge of production and asset authoring pipelines
* Experience with asset build, asset management and asset change isolation workflows
* Experience scripting and developing custom plugins in Maya, Houdini or other DCCs
* End to end asset authoring and rendering pipeline knowledge
* Expert knowledge of Python, C++, Git, Perforce, Jira, and/or an equivalent
* Strong software engineering practices
* In-depth experience supporting OS X, Windows, and Linux operating systems
* Excellent debugging skills

Deliver foundational pipeline and workflow solutions in a fast paced multifunctional team. As part of the Synthetic Data Group you will help build the foundation of tools and workflows that dataset engineers, ML engineers, and content creators rely on. This role will rely on your past experience to help guide the direction of both fundamental pipeline architecture and innovate data generation workflows. There is a heavy focus on both stability and rapid scaling, so being comfortable balancing these opposing needs is important.

BA in Digital Media / BS or MS in Computer Science/ Equivalent industry experience

* Realtime and offline rendering experience a plus
