Northrop Grumman is in need of an Engineering Technician to work at its Plymouth, Minnesota location.

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

This work requires that interested individuals have some knowledge or experience with explosives or energetic assembly amp; test. Previously followed explosive safety build amp; test practices; has the capability to safely operate equipment that is designed or modified for the build amp; test of munitions, and also the willingness to stop operations with explosives that are identified not to be safe.

Qualification

Qualifications:
bull; High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 3 years experience, technical or higher degree preferred.
bull; Experience in various data collection processes used for the Validation/Verification of Tooling; Production Engineering process details and Design Engineering test procedures. Also, the ability to coordinate that data with those stake holders to interpret, analyze, and offer advice on what that data means.
bull; Ability to utilize Oscilloscopes, power supplies, pulse generators and multi meters in obtaining data. Then the ability to transfer the data generated into a data sheet for engineering.
bull; Previous experience capturing screen shot data or taking digital pictures to help define process or root cause analysis definition.
bull; Experience with microscope camera looking for defects and possible potential failure points.
bull; Assembly, disassembly, processing, repairing, and testing of small arms, artillery, and other mechanical or electrical ordnance assemblies.
bull; Previous experience in the operation of machine shop equipment such as turret lathes, precision grinders, drill presses, planers, hydraulic presses, etc. is desired.
bull; Maintain control of energetic materials and assemblies that include the receipt, storage, issue or transfer of items per BATFE guidelines.
bull; Ability to perform demil operations of all types of ammunition or explosive sub-assemblies that contain various hazardous materials.
bull; Testing of explosives and ammunition to determine characteristics such as dispersion patterns, velocity and range per pre-approved ldquo;Detailed Operating Procedures rdquo; (DOP rsquo;s).
bull; Other job functions include the capability to build or assemble a fuse; insertion of detonators or boosters into safe amp; arm devices; mechanical assembly of accelerometers or thermocouples that include attaching or soldering of wires to the detonation circuit.
bull; Safety is number ldquo;1 rdquo;; so being able to be certified in the handling of energetic material and able to follow Explosive SOP rsquo;s or DOP rsquo;s (standard operating and detailed operating procedures) to complete explosive operations is required. Being able to then assemble hardware to product drawings and then have those completed assemblies meet those defined drawing Inspection requirements.
bull; Ability to provide detailed written or verbal communication to internal or external customers that include multiple levels of Engineering; Management; or co-workers in Tool Design or Prototype Build amp; Test areas to review and analyze the data results recorded.
bull; The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
bull; Must be a US citizen
