At Amazon's Employee Services Technology (ES Tech) team, we are building and onboarding exciting new products on Amazon AWS, integrating with Salesforce, Mulesoft, Informatica, Adobe, Hyland OnBase and many other native Amazon platforms across the globe. Our team operates on a HR technology platform that is among the largest in the world by volume, geographical coverage and complexity. We develop new solutions, maintain and improve existing ones to support the overall self-service strategy and user experience for our candidates and employees.
We are looking for a results-oriented, innovative software development engineer. As a Software Development Engineer, you would work closely with customers, product managers, SDETs, peer cross team developers to build and deploy full-stack applications, using languages including, but not limited to, Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Python, HTML, and CSS. Amazon uses a wide variety of stacks and frameworks, all hosted on the industry-leading platform, AWS. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-motivated, can deliver high quality results in an agile environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
2+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Javascript or Python including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and/or Design (OOD)
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
2 + years of non-internship professional software development experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience using source control (e.g. GIT) and CI/CD
Experience with agile development
Proficient in AWS
Experience with Mulesoft, Adobe, OnBase, Informatica, and Salesforce
Experience working with Security and Governance teams on legal, privacy and security mandated compliance requirements (GDPR or similar), delivering industry configured and custom built tools/solutions for auditing, reporting and executing bulk actions (e.g.: data obfuscation, data archival/restore, data depersonalization, etc.)
Knowledge of engineering practices and standards for the full development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
