Northrop Grummans Defense Systems sector is looking for a Manager, Programs Level 1 to support the Missile Products organization/business unit.
The primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals.
The Program Manager oversees and manages the operational aspects and profit/loss standing of a program. As leader of the program, the Program Manager interfaces directly with the customer and has a deep understanding of all stakeholders involved. The Program Manager regularly reviews status of tasks and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports. He or she also assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Program Managers are responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance on assigned programs and include, but are not limited to:
Profit amp; loss (P amp;L) responsibility for the program(s).
Evaluate program risks and develop mitigation plans for those risks.
Lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance objectives.
Interface directly with the customer(s) and external stakeholders.
Establish an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to meet or exceed program schedule goals.
Lead financial reviews and develop estimates at completion (EACs).
Communicate and present effectively, verbally and written, to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of proposals in support of new or follow-on business.
Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change appropriately
Development and adherence to master plans and schedules
Interfaces with plant operations to ensure product milestones and requirements are understood and met
Provides leadership in the management of the bill of materials and supplier base and associated cross functional support to meet material budgets and schedules required to execute the program(s)
Travel to suppliers or customers ~ 10% of the time
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree
* At least 8 years of experience supporting a U.S. Government contracting business model.
* Demonstrated program management office experience.
* Experience in a high rate manufacturing environment
* Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
