WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Were looking for an outstanding Senior Footwear Designer to combine their point of view, problem-solving abilities, and experience to help build the next era of Jordan Sport Footwear.

The ideal candidate needs to be a results-oriented problem solver from jaw-dropping conceptualization to manufacturing for world-class performance on court. By crafting and maintaining a clear vision, this candidate utilizes feedback & teamwork as a method of improving design. In order to push the limits of design, the candidate will proactively understand how to own their time & calendar to foster their design narrative and consistently hit deadlines & key calendar gates.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, youll be partnering with the Jordan Materials, Color, Innovation, PM, and Development & Engineering teams, and bringing to life the seasonal creative direction through footwear product design.

As our Senior Footwear Designer Jordan Sport, you'll work under the direction of the Senior Design Director to build innovative products for Jordan's performance footwear and partner with the cross-functional team from concepting to reality. You'll also communicate creative narratives, product concepts and consumer insights to internal and external audiences; finalize tech packages and proactively follow the execution of all product details, including construction, color, form, style, detail, fit performance and cost/value requirements; and review all samples and clearly communicate changes required.

From pen to production and working with manufacturing partners to communicating directly with professional athletesthe daily responsibilities of this role are wide-ranging, exciting, and ambitious.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role does not have direct reports, and reports directly to a Sr FW Design Director, while regularly partnering with other Footwear Designers, Materials Designers, Color Designers, Developers, Engineers, Testing and PMs. You will also work closely with our Inline Innovation team as well as gaining insights from the NSRL & Nike Explore Team (NXT).

WHAT YOU BRING

* EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in fashion design, product design, industrial design, accessory and footwear design, or textile design (Will also accept a Masters degree in fashion design, product design, accessory and footwear design, industrial design, or textile design)
* EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree and at least 8 years of experience in footwear design. Will also accept a Masters degree and at least 6 years of experience in footwear design.
* Ability to create original and innovative concepts
* Exceptional visual communication and ability to present concepts convincingly & simply
* Strong sense of footwear product creation process and timeline
* Knowledge and experience in technical footwear manufacturing processes, rapid prototyping and 3-D model making processes
* Footwear-specific experience in the sports products industry is preferred
* Managerial and business planning skills are a plus
