WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Were looking for an outstanding FW Color Designer to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, and creativity to help build the future of Jordan Footwear Color Design.
The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative problem solver, who doesnt settle for anything less than the best Color Design solutions, to meet the needs of the consumer or athlete. This person will be focused on elevating the consumer experience by focusing on both the art and science of Color strategy and application, and driving Color Design excellence through the connection of trend, design, development, and manufacturing.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, youll be partnering with the Jordan FW Design, Materials, and Development teams, and bringing to life the seasonal creative direction through Footwear Color Design strategy and application. You will use your sophisticated skills to build color palettes based on seasonal creative concepts and color strategy. You will obsess color application on product, plan multi-season color blocking strategies, and craft a consumer and brand-right narrative through the use of color.
From creating color palettes to finalizing tech packs, from working with manufacturing partners to communicating directly with athletes, the daily responsibilities of this role are wide ranging, complicated, and exciting.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role does not have direct reports, and reports directly to the Jordan Color Design - Design Director, while regularly partnering with other Footwear and Apparel Color Designers, Footwear Designers, Materials Designers, Developers, and Product Line Managers.
WHAT YOU BRING
- EDUCATION: Bachelors or Master's in fashion design, product design, industrial design, textiles, graphics or other relevant field
- EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant Color Design experience or Masters degree and 3 years of experience in Color Design.
- Ability to create color palettes and concepts and explore new color blocking strategies
- Understanding of the Footwear Product Creation process a plus
- Experience working and communicating directly with manufacturing partners to ensure the accuracy of Color application and execution
- Ability to create and edit files using Adobe programs including Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience building inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction
- Ability to present new insights or seasonal concepts to small and large groups
