PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Director of Golf Operations is responsible for providing strategic direction, daily oversight, and leadership for the golf course and all corresponding areas in accordance with luxury brand standards. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Company policies, practices, and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee leadership in the development and monitoring of the Fallen Oak fiscal budgets and guest service standards, to maximize revenue opportunities to produce both short-term and long-term profitability for Golf Operations.
* Oversees the development and implementation of the strategic plan and vision for the Golf Course consistent with the companys objectives to also include marketing and sales.
* Direct leadership team as it pertains to departmental expenses and adjusts according to business demands to meet forecast expectation by monitoring the departmental budget, P&L, reporting, and forecasting.
* Direct leadership team in operational decisions and process implementation for such items as purchase requisitions, inventory control, departmental procedures, and customer relations.
* Partner with the Director of Grounds to ensure playability, course standards, and guest feedback are of central focus to ensure superior playing conditions.
* Partner with Hotel Sales to maximize opportunities for direct golf sales as well as leverage Fallen Oak for convention clients.
* Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal laws.
* Oversees the staff compliance to ensure technical, operational, and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA safety, state, and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
* Conducts performance evaluations in accordance with property and company guidelines; provide positive follow up guidelines for opportunities for employee improvement.
* Ensures quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the Companys diversity commitment
* Perform other job-related duties as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelors degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
* Four (4) years of relevant experience in the golf profession

PREFERRED:

* Seven (7) years of Golf Course Management experience
* Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
* Experience in the hospitality or F&B experience
* Ability to instruct the game of golf
* Class A PGA Professional in Good Standing

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

* Valid State drivers license
* Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Ability to manage a P&L, with strong financial statement and accounting principles knowledge.
* Ability to effectively communicate the importance of internal guest service and display ability to communicate professionally and efficiently to all departments as needed within the property and Company.
* Ability to access all areas of the facility, stretch, bend, kneel carry and lift items, and maintain the mental and physical stamina to work extended shifts and days.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment while meeting deadlines.
* Ability to prepare clear, concise reports; prepare annual budget estimates and execute the authorized expenditures
* .Ability to establish guidelines for proper staffing to maximize efficiency and minimize labor costs.
* Working knowledge of the game of golf.
* Current knowledge of all major golf manufacturer trends and product lines.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Able to lead and mentor a team.
* Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
* Professional appearance and demeanor.
* Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
* Working knowledge of PC software (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.) Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and third-party vendors.
* Ability to provide professional and business communications, in both oral and written forms.
* Effective and versatile communication and relationship building skills both up and down the organization.
* Negotiation skills to successfully interact with third-party partners.
