Job Description

As an Optical Test Engineer for the Silicon Photonics team you'll be responsible for testing of various active and passive optical and photonic components and subsystems for next generation highspeed silicon photonic products. You'll work closely with component and module design engineers for component characterization, optical subassembly testing, and data analytics. Assist with module and system testing. Develop test setup and test flow for optical device characterizations. Define test plan and characterize highspeed photodetectors. Perform highspeed receiver subsystem testing. Perform optical testing of components such as waveguides, multiplexers and de-multiplexers, and fiber-to-chip coupling. Perform optical system testing.

Qualifications

MS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Sciences or related discipline with 4+ years of experience or PhD with experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science with 2+ years of experience
2+ years of experience with high-speed testing involving VNAs, PPGs, DCAs related to photonic devices
3+ years of experience in photonics device physics and experience with optical communications, fiber optics, integrated optics, WDM technology, or semiconductor physics as related to photonics devices

Preferred qualifications

2+ years of experience with different modulation formats (PAM4, NRZ) and knowledge of current generation and next generation optical transceiver architectures
2+ years of experience in chip-level or package-level testing involving electrical probing and fiber coupling
3+ years of experience in software automation skills, especially in python and/or MATLAB.
