We are seeking a talented and experienced Compliance Manager to own all legal, tax, and compliance related matters for our growing organization.

AWS is seeking a Compliance Manager who will lead and execute the global expansions and service as a tax and legal program manager for AWS Training and Certification. This role has to be comfortable interfacing with various functional teams, have a passion for solving ambiguous problems and be willing to roll up their sleeves to build processes that significantly impact our customers. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, and customer-focused with the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. Manage Global Expansion efforts working closely with Expansion team, Accounting, Finance, Infrastructure, Tax, Legal, Operations and Management teams. Effectively communicate requirements to stakeholders and provide regular status updates to leadership team. The Compliance Manager will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. You will own and drive all compliance related matters and initiatives, while ensuring alignment globally.

Some of the key job functions are

Own and manage programs related to operations, including global expansion, contract management, legal issues, tax, and other compliance related functions.
Act as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for all Tax/Legal needs. You will resolve issues and facilitate discussions with Legal, Tax, other internal teams and external vendors as needed.
Manage Tax/Legal related work streams and/or projects for T&C from initiation through planning, execution, and closeout
Maintain internal documentation (wiki) with information pertaining to the Tax/Legal processes
Develop process guides for contracts, invoicing, learning management system, training coordinator responsibilities, and other systems/programs.
Monitor and report on the progress of all activity within the product area including significant milestones and any conditions
Gain support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership
Takes accountability while providing status, asking for help and immediately escalating issues and problems as necessary
Collaborate with regional training coordinators to understand responsibilities and discover where operational efficiencies can be achieved. Document and share country-specific process work flows
Support Operations Manager with legal, tax, and compliance functions
Work closely with Infrastructure, Data Engineering, etc. with documentation of processes and issues, as they relate to the T&C processes and systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BA in Business, Accounting, Tax, Legal, Finance, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience owning and analyzing complex business problems with a focus on compliance, legal or audit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA, strategy consulting or other general management experience
Exhibits excellent judgment
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
Excels at delivering results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement.
Experience with tax compliance and reporting
Knowledge and/or hands-on experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
