POSITION SUMMARY:

Within the NICU, an occupational therapist monitors the development central nervous systems of the infants and provides therapy if the infant is at risk of having developmental delays. Occupational therapists also monitor activities such as eating and movement of the legs and arms to determine neurosensory development.

The Occupational Therapist will provide goal directed treatment program planning/implementation, related documentation and communication for neonatal populations who will receive treatment without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin. Completes a competency skill checklist within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in accordance with regulations by the Nevada State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.

If Bachelors, has a plan to complete masters within 3 years of hire, transfer, and/or currently in position.

Experience:

Minimum of two years experience in Neonatal Intensive Care setting required

License/Cert:

State of Nevada license for Occupational Therapy.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) upon hire.

Special Skills:

Neonatal Intensive Care Experience required
