Director, Program Mgmt
About the role
This person will report to the VP of Program Management Coronary Therapies and lead the Franchise Leadership Team (FLT). As Director of Program Management and leader of the FLT, you will have input in shaping our investment strategy and responsibility for executing a portfolio of activities to support the business product life cycle including new product development, sustaining and strategic commercial activities. This role requires a mix of business acumen, fact-based decision making, project management expertise, and collaborative stakeholder management. The Director of Program Management is a pivotal liaison between the FLT and senior leadership and is responsible for merging strategy with execution.
Qualifying candidates will demonstrate a strong track record of success and accountability in leadership roles both within and across the matrix and have proven project and business experience.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leads the Franchise Leadership Team and continuously improves our business governance processes.
* Partners closely with peers in Marketing, Finance, R&D, Clinical, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory to develop and execute a product portfolio designed to continue our global leadership position.
* Accountable for the cost, schedule, and performance of all PDPs within the portfolio.
* Partners closely with finance and the portfolio manager to represent the business in key financial processes such as AOP and forecasting.
* Leads the FLT in appropriate decision making through strong judgment, strategic questioning, and the ability to analyze options and implications.
* Responsible for leading a team of project managers tasked with executing the PDPs along with Sustaining project managers tasked with insuring high quality, continuous product supply.
* Recruits, coaches and develops organizational talent. Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
* Responsible for understanding the key objectives of the business. Applies project management skills, strategic analysis, and influence to insure strategic imperatives are met.
* Builds internal and external stakeholder partnerships to further organizational objectives. Communicates clearly, credibly, and decisively to senior level leadership both within the division and across the matrix.
* Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
* Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
Quality System Requirements
* In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
* Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
* Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.

* 10+ years broad, cross-functional, medical device experience including product development
* Highly valued experiences include:
* Project management
* Commercial experience in sales or marketing
* Functional management
* Direct leadership in functions supporting the product development process
* Portfolio management
* Direct experience in running a project management office
* Bachelors degree (MBA desired)
* Excel in cross functional & collaborative leadership and stakeholder management
* Proven track record of motivating teams and functions to achieve above plan performance
* Strong business acumen & strategic thought leadership
* Proven ability to drive execution of a portfolio of projects
