The Engineering Associate Manager is responsible for managing an agile engineering team supporting technology solutions development for a product or capability domain. Partner with business product owners, systems architects, and the engineering team to identify and prioritize functional and technical needs for the supported products. Leads a team of engineers to deliver commitments in the product backlog. Mentors and guides the professional and technical development of engineers on the team and assists in hiring top engineering talent. Works within the agile team to design, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and methodologies. Ensures the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the team or third party providers. Supports implementation of features of varying complexity within the team aligned to a product or capability domain. Partners with product
owner to drive business outcomes. Understands and ensures compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met. Ensures that key areas of technology risk including security, stability, and scalability are addressed in engineered products. Interface with third party vendors and technology service providers. Manage a team of junior to mid-level individual contributor engineers.
Wealth and Investment Management Technology is seeking a Engineering Associate Manager with a background in technology leadership. This position will be part of an innovative web service development team building services in a Service Oriented Architecture for use by internal and customer facing applications. In this role you will manage a team of software engineers and technology analysts who design, build, and test RESTful web services in Java and reports using Tableau. You will be responsible for balancing competing priorities and strategies, and making decisions that brings the most value to Wells Fargo. This position will ensure projects and applications adhere to appropriate policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, possess good problem solving skills, and can manage a diverse technology team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage a team of about 11 full time engineers and technology analysts
* Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers and assist in hiring top engineering talent
* Provide regular feedback, evaluate performance, and make compensation recommendations for the team
* Partner with business product managers, systems architects, and senior engineers to develop product functional and technical strategy
* Assist in developing departmental strategies and goals and measure progress to goals
* Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements
* Support resource planning, prioritization and forecasting
* Manage applications throughout their lifecycle
* Lead and deliver on strategic initiatives within Wealth and Investment Management
* Provide on-call 24x7 third level production support
This position can be based at the Wells Fargo site location in Minneapolis, MN or Saint Louis, MO.

Required Qualifications
* 3+ years of technology engineering experience
* 2+ years of leadership experience in a technology environment
